Part 5 of the Protection of the Environment Operations (Clean Air) Regulation

The EPA has provided this guide on Part 5 of the Protection of the Environment Operations (Clean Air) Regulation 2010 for premises it licenses. The guide specifies maximum emissions of air pollutants permitted from industrial, agricultural and commercial scheduled and non-scheduled activities.

See Guide to Emission of air impurities from activities and plant (PDF 87KB).

The information is not exhaustive and you should contact the EPA before acting on information in the guide. Direct all questions relating to a specific premises or development proposal to the relevant EPA office.

As the guide was prepared in 2005, it refers to the 2002 Clean Air Regulation. See the clause comparison table (PDF 22KB) for information on which clause numbers and Parts of the 2002 Regulation match those in the 2010 Clean Air Regulation.
