Revision of Guidelines for the NSW Site Auditor Scheme
The Contaminated Land Management – Guidelines for the NSW Site Auditor Scheme describe the obligations of site auditors in conducting a site audit and the administrative framework supporting the site auditor scheme.
The guidelines apply to individuals seeking accreditation as site auditors in NSW and accredited site auditors undertaking site audits in NSW. They may also be of use to other people with an interest in contaminated sites, such as contaminated land consultants and local councils, as guidance on what is expected of site auditors when engaging them or reviewing their work.
The guidelines have been revised to account for the amendment of the National Environment Protection (Assessment of Site Contamination) Measure 1999 and to bring improvements to the site auditor scheme.
When finalised, these guidelines will be ‘made’ under section 105 of the Contaminated Land Management Act 1997.
The EPA has a duty to allow the public an opportunity to submit comment on the Contaminated Land Management – Draft guidelines for the NSW Site Auditor Scheme and to consider the comments submitted before the guidelines are made. The guidelines, once made, will revoke the former EPA guidelines published in 2006.
The guidelines are now closed for comment.
