Southern region forest agreement and IFOA

Comprehensive regional assessments were undertaken in the Southern region from 1996 to 1999. Detailed studies of the forests were conducted. Fauna habitat was mapped, local heritage identified, and the economic status and social make-up of local communities examined. The assessments took into account the impact of forest industry changes on the environment, townships, local economies and communities.

The Forest Agreement for the Southern Region of NSW was made on 3 May 2002. A printed copy of the agreement can be obtained from Environment Line.
