Managing radiation in NSW

Radiation management licence – conditions

Conditions apply in addition to the licensees obligations to meet the requirements of the Act and the Regulation. The requirements of the legislation are not restated in the conditions and the licensee should be familiar with the legislation.

Management licence conditions comprise the following requirements:

  1. General obligations to comply with the legislation and to notify the EPA where appropriate of changes to contact details
  2. Safety information awareness and signage
  3. Compliance certification requirements for diagnostic imaging apparatus and fixed radiation gauges
  4. Matters relating to the working life of sealed radioactive sources and the notification of the receipt and transfer of regulated material
  5. Consent to dispose of radiation apparatus
  6. Record keeping and storage
  7. Specific information relating to whole body scanning and cyclotrons
  8. Details of the applicable guides, codes of practice and definitions
