Consultation on the draft Bill and Regulatory Framework Discussion Paper
Between 23 August and 21 September 2016, the government consulted on the Waste and Resource Recovery Amendment (Container Deposit Scheme) Bill 2016 (which is now the Act) and a Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) Regulatory Framework Discussion Paper. These documents outlined the government's views on the regulatory framework for the NSW Container Deposit Scheme at that time.
The government received over 130 submissions to these documents. These submissions were considered by the government in the draft Bill which was tabled in Parliament in October, and will be considered in the drafting of the regulations.
Please note, the Regulatory Framework Discussion Paper below does not necessarily reflect the government's current position on the scheme.
