Aims

Waste Less, Recycle More supports collaboration for regional organisations of councils (ROCs), council groups and voluntary regional waste groups.

To date grants totalling $8 million have been awarded to support six ROCs and council groups in the Sydney Metropolitan, Illawarra and Hunter region as they work to develop and implement regional waste strategies, fund regional coordinators, undertake regional waste and recycling projects and maximise funding opportunities for local communities under the Waste Less, Recycle More initiative. These grants will benefit 45 councils that pay the waste levy, representing more than 6 million residents.
