Waste and recycling

Organics Infrastructure Fund

Almost half of household waste destined for NSW landfills consists of food and garden organic waste. Waste Less, Recycle More provides $70 million to boost food and garden organics recycling, and reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill.

The Organics Infrastructure Fund supports programs that will educate, expand collection and processing, increase food donation, and develop new markets.

Organics Infrastructure Fund videos

To celebrate International Compost Awareness Week 2016, the EPA released three short videos showcasing some great work underway through the Organics Infrastructure Fund grant programs.

Compost new weapon in farmers' war on weeds

Kitchen waste a boon to local growers

Compost kicks goals on playing fields

Some grant programs are delivered through a partnership between the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) and NSW Environmental Trust.
