Our dedicated media team works with journalists to ensure that correct information is publicly available through media channels.

Journalists - enquiries and requests

You may need to outline the enquiry details in writing, including specific questions, deadline times, broadcast/publication date and the context of the request.

Our media team may upload journalists' questions and responses on to the EPA website to clarify any inaccuracies or misconceptions that are reported.

Response times

We aim to respond to enquiries within 4 hours of the request being made. The more detailed or technical the request, the more time the media team require to provide a response.

Due to the high volume of media enquiries we receive, we must prioritise requests.

For non-urgent matters or background information, at least 24 hours' notice is required.

Out-of-hours and weekends

Outside office hours, at weekends and on public holidays, the on-call EPA media officer will respond to urgent and high priority media enquiries only. At least 4 hours' notice is preferred.

At the discretion of the on-call EPA media officer, journalists with non-urgent media enquiries during these periods may be advised to put their enquiry in writing for a response during office hours.
