Our Minister: The Honourable Penny Sharpe MLC

The Honourable Penny Sharpe MLC was appointed the Minister for Energy and Climate Change, Minister for Environment and Heritage and Leader of the Government in the Legislative Council on 28 March 2023.

Penny was first elected to the NSW Legislative Council in October 2005. She has a passion for the environment and is committed to policy reform and action.

Protection and care of our environment, and respect for and celebration of our heritage is core business for state governments. It is a responsibility that comes with great opportunities, some serious challenges, but the knowledge that when we get it right, we are passing on a better future for those that come after us.

Her policy interests include equality, the environment, transport, better cities, innovation, LGBTQI law reform, women, and using technology to improve democracy.
