Welcome to the Winter edition of EPA Connect. The EPA, like many NSW Government agencies, has undergone a period of change since our last newsletter as part of the Machinery of Government changes. As such, the EPA remains an independent agency but within the new Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) Cluster.

Return and Earn hits 2 billion
In a major milestone for litter reduction in NSW, Return and Earn has collected 2 billion drink containers and reduced eligible container litter volume by 57 per cent in just over 18 months since it started. Read more

Air watch project in Blue Mountains kicks off
Blue Mountains and Lithgow communities have been seeking more information on air quality in their local areas and the EPA has responded by installing a new temporary air quality monitoring station at Katoomba. Read more
