Sites investigated for asbestos in mulch and results

Our investigation into the supply chain is now complete and the criminal investigation is ongoing.

The EPA can confirm that Rozelle Parklands, all schools, hospitals and healthcare facilities which were found to have asbestos in mulch have been cleaned up and re-opened.

Over the coming weeks, we will be contacting landowners to ensure clean-up has been completed or is underway. We have provided additional support to residential and not-for-profit landowners and those sites have been remediated.

Public landholders are responsible for cleaning up asbestos in mulch contamination on their sites.
