Graduates interested in joining us are encouraged to apply through this program, making sure to indicate their preference for the EPA when submitting their application.
All relevant opportunities can be found by visiting I Work for NSW and searching for 'graduate' positions.
Legal graduate program
In addition to the general graduate intake, we offer a specialised Legal Graduate Program tailored for those with a keen interest in environmental law.
This program is usually conducted annually, with available roles posted under the 'All jobs in all locations' section at I Work For NSW. The date for the next intake will be announced in June.
Other pathways
Beyond these programs, we regularly advertise entry-level positions and welcome applications from graduates eager to begin their careers in environmental protection.
Our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
The EPA is a diverse organisation that respects and supports all its employees. We are proud of the unique identities, backgrounds, and lived experiences that make up our workforce. We want staff to feel safe and encouraged in their work so that the EPA, in turn, benefits from the input of people from varied experiences and backgrounds, including Aboriginal people, women, people with disabilities, young people, mature workers and LGBTQIA+ people.
We hold a strong and ongoing commitment to diversity, equity & inclusion, and we actively encourage our staff to bring their whole selves to work. By fostering a culture of authenticity and openness, we unlock the full potential of our people.
We all have a responsibility to ensure that the EPA is an inclusive workplace—one that acknowledges and respects the diverse needs, identities, and experiences of our colleagues and the communities we serve.
As a NSW public service agency, it is essential that our workforce reflects the communities we serve. We value the diverse perspectives our people bring to their roles and believe these insights strengthen our work and impact.
Come join us, and bring your culture with you
