Asbestos and waste tyres guidelines

Consignors, transporters and waste facilities transporting and accepting more than certain quantities of waste tyres or asbestos waste within NSW must track this waste.

These guidelines help the waste industry:

• meet legislative requirements in clauses 76 and 79 of the Protection of the Environment Operations (Waste) Regulation 2014
• use the Integrated Waste Tracking Solution to track the transport and disposal of waste tyres
• use the Integrated Waste Tracking Solution to track the transport and disposal of asbestos waste.

These guidelines provide information for:

• waste tyre and asbestos consignors
• waste tyre and asbestos transporters
• waste and recycling facilities accepting waste tyres and asbestos.
