Salt Ash weapons range
The Department of Defence (Defence) have undertaken an investigation program at the Salt Ash Weapons Range due to historic use of PFAS firefighting foams at the site.
Defence conducted an environmental investigation at the site and found that PFAS was not widespread and at low concentrations. To be precautionary, the EPA has asked for a further sampling round to confirm there is no risk to nearby receptors.
The EPA is leading the NSW Government response to PFAS and will provide further information on the Salt Ash Weapons Range investigations as it becomes available.
