We completed a 3-year program that mapped koala habitat and occupancy in NSW native forests to inform new identification methods in native forestry areas.

The baseline map of koala occurrence was developed as part of the koala mapping program and shows where koalas are likely to be found across NSW.

As part of the koala mapping program, the EPA trialled 3 different mapping approaches in areas of differing koala density and habitat, in Royal Camp, Carwong, Maria River and Clouds Creek state forests.
